The first big change was from me merely posting on a blog to maintaining an actual full-blown website. Starting out, I needed somewhere to post my images where potential clients could access them, but I recently discovered the importance of having your own domain name. If you're even thinking of opening a business or ever think you would even be slightly interested in posting work or writing online, buy your name in a domain! This is seriously so important. You can create your site later, but if by that time, someone else has bought the domain you want, you'll be sorry.
The next change that was exciting for me was the increase in space. With the addition of webpages comes increased flexibility and organization. What once was a single gallery with several images now is several galleries tailored to meet each client's need when they visit the site. So whether you're seeking individual, couple, or family portraits, you can quickly and easily find samples of my work from the past in each area.
Another thing to make photo sessions even more personalized are questionnaires. My absolute favorite part of my job, hands down, is meeting each of you! Connecting with people from all walks of life just puts a spring in my step, and I have been brainstorming ways to do that better for a while. Over this summer, I've created individualized questionnaires to send you after a session is booked. They will help me understand your style and preferences plus give me ideas on locations to suggest for you. I get to know you better, and you get images that better match your unique disposition. Win, win for the both of us!!
But contracts aren't the only paper products I've been hard at work on. The Nichole Lauren Photography portrait session contract has gotten a little face-lift too. I've incorporated what I have learned over the last half year into the contract. The most common questions are answered, the sections are more organized, and the wording is more clear. The impact of this is two-fold. For one, a more thorough contract gives me a way to cover topics you may have questions about before the session so that we can make the most of our actual time together. And at the same time, a thorough contract outlines the standards I have set for each session. I want you to be able to know what you can expect from me, and I also desire to ensure that each client experience is held to the same standard of excellence consistently during each and every session..
Another aspect I want to continue to keep consistent is the Nichole Lauren Photography brand. Since branding is a combination of everything you do on and offline, it's important that your work is showcased in a space that matches your style, another reason to be excited about the new site! I have aimed to keep the layout clean and simple. I adore classic, timeless looks, and Nichole Lauren Photography is centered on this theme.
I am constantly seeking new ways to improve my little creative venture so that I can serve you better. Moving forward, I have made pursuing tools to increase efficiency a priority. I want to find ways to make the most of the time I have with clients which means taking care of a lot of business before sessions online. I've started with making it possible for clients to pay deposits online, and with that, I'm excited to explore other possibilities. As always, if you have any ideas, comments, or questions you want to shoot my way, don't hesitate to contact me! I love hearing from you!!
Hope your weekend is terrific, friends! Stay sweet!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope this little missive finds you well and with a smile on your lovely face. It is an absolutely picturesque evening, and being in bed sick has really made me appreciate the details I have been noticing in my own backyard. There’s just something about being under the weather that makes you get this wondrous sense of nostalgia. It could be the fact that there isn’t much else to do, but memories are fun and what I’ve decided are indicators of a blessed life. The extra time God plopped in my lap this week was not what I had intended nor has it been particularly easy. But with it, I have been able to slow down and reflect in a way I have not been able to in quite some time. And while physically I am still exhausted, it has been mentally refreshing.
I got to thinking. Every good brand and business has a reason behind what they do and why they want to do it that way. And after doing quite a bit of reading while simultaneously reflecting on my personal brand, I decided that the same is true for Nichole Lauren Photography. However, I had never officially recorded my goals and values. So I thought outlining my vision and sharing my heart would be an appropriate way to let you know where I stand and why it is important to choose wisely when it comes to who you do business with.
Helen Keller said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” Those are powerful words, and I believe she couldn’t have been more spot on. Everyone has a vision regardless of whether or not they declare one or whether or not they are an entrepreneur. We all have an overarching theme to our lives, and sometimes there are multiple themes and themes that come in and out for a season. Pinpointing where our passion lies is the key to unlocking enthusiasm and determination. The reason hindsight is 20/20 is because that’s when most people end up focusing on the big picture.
My vision is to inspire others.
It's a nice little tagline. But a vision alone isn't sufficient. While it is necessary to see the big picture, everyday I work with my clients I want to have a mission in mind to keep me on track for where I want to be with Nichole Lauren Photography. I am a dreamer, and while I love to dream big, I know it's important for me to be grounded as well. Being all in with every moment right now leads to bigger rewards in consistency and progress down the road.
My mission is to inspire my clients by cultivating a relationship, learning their story, and capturing a creative peek at each life through my lens.
I love my job! I get to meet such a variety of people from all walks of life and get to take a part in helping them make memories, ones that will last them through their sick days and their healthy ones too. : ) I think that is such a high honor and privilege that I want to be reminded of each time I prepare for a session.
I love travel and adventure. I love seeing things from new perspectives. I love to find good food in exciting places. And I love making moments last for as long as possible.
