Hunter was sweet enough to drive me down to Charleston for this engagement session. We made a day trip out of it, arrived a little early, and got in a swim at the beach. This included my new golden swan float-- which we've lovingly dubbed Goldie Swawn. But if you want a funny mental image, just picture us, wrangling a 6 foot inflatable swan while trying to hold it down to be blown up by our battery powered air mattress pump (real classy here, folks!). Meanwhile, the wind is blowing something fierce and people are starting to laugh and stare while pointing at us. But in the end, we had the best time! It was so fun riding the waves with Goldie, and it was the perfect start to a great day trip. The best part, though, was meeting up with these two. We started at the most adorable gazebo area on Sullivans Island and ended on the beach. Sullivans has always been my favorite beach in Charleston because of how secluded and less populated it is. However, this night, it was a little busier than normal. But Brittany & Joey were so flexible and fun, and when they agreed to get into the water at the end of the session, I could have started jumping up and down with excitement. It was simply the best and unlike any other session I've had before. You don't want to miss it!
When I pulled into the Mill at Adam's Pond, I felt like I was being transported to the low country even though I was right in the heart of Columbia, SC. It was like a destination wedding without the driving distance, and that made it special and intimate. Everything from the getting ready shots to the ceremony to the portraits to the reception took place in this location which made all the details so dreamy and fun. The color palette was a perfect mix of summer brights and pastels which tied together perfectly with the bright green Spanish moss hanging from the trees above. To top it all off, there were a couple of crocodiles in the lake behind the outdoor ceremony spot that made its appearance with their heads popping out of the water during the vows. Definitely a unique experience. I had so much fun second shooting this wedding with Courtney Price Photography. And I know you'll love these images too. So pop the champagne and get to scrolling!
Just the sweetest daddy/daughter first look. These moments always make me emotional!
Jennifer & Josh shared a sweet "first touch" moment followed by the exchange of their wedding gifts for each other. I think Josh did a great job with the delicate necklace he picked out for his bride and that she decided to wear on their day!
The things that stands out most to me about Sarah & James is their laid back, carefree, and easy-going personalities. They fit so well together and love to laugh with each other. Their wedding was no different. From the time I arrived at the church to their beautifully decorated reception, not only was everything perfect, but Sarah and James didn't have a care in the world! It was obvious they were just ready to enjoy their day with friends, family, and each other. And their deep love and affection for each other was so evident throughout the entire day. These are the kind of days and the type of clients that just make a photographer's heart burst with joy! Can't wait to ring in the weekend by showing you these images!!!
Thanks to these wedding vendors for making this day just the best!!
