Jordan thought that Gavin was away for the day, playing golf with a buddy in Charlotte. Little did she know, he was planning the surprise of her life! While Jordan got dressed up to go with a friend to dinner that evening, Gavin had reserved their favorite spot in Downtown Greenville, the Larkin's Courtyard. He also had a buddy helping, the fiance of Jordon's dinner friend. The plan was that Jordan's friend would casually suggest they walk through the courtyard on the way back from dinner, meanwhile, Jordan's friend would be tracking their location on his phone. She walked through the beautiful gates to find a perfectly lighted courtyard with the man of her dreams waiting to ask her a very important question (with a very amazing ring!!). I am so honored that these two wanted me to capture this special moment. Now, it's time to plan for their wedding, and I couldn't be more thrilled! Scroll to the end to see the cutest champagne celebration!! :)
Being in Greenville, SC we really are spoiled with the best of both worlds. It's a short drive to the beautiful mountains and just a little bit longer to the warm beaches. You really can have it both ways, so I'm all up for adventuring a little further away for a fun twist on an engagement session. When we arrived at Bald Rock, I knew we'd made a good choice for Kaci & Justin's portrait session, and they agreed! Clear, blue skies, warm temps, and a sunset that made an already gorgeous session even more breathtaking. My only sadness comes with knowing I won't get to spend time with these sweet souls again until their wedding next Spring! Happy weekend, and enjoy these dreamy, mountain portraits!
I got to meet up with Regan and Zach at the SC Botanical Garden in Clemson this past weekend, and it was pure magic. From the perfect glowy lighting to the sweet, sweet couple in front of my lens, everything was any photographer's dream. These two met back in middle school, and according to Regan, she had a big time crush on Zach back then. Her feelings never really went away, and even as they parted ways and dated other people throughout college, she prayed that one day they'd reconnect. After 10 years of missing each other while not being single at the same times, they finally met up to catch up, and the rest is history. I can't wait for their summer wedding, and I'm so blessed to know these people and not only be able to call them my beautiful clients but also sweet new friends!
Morgan & Nick's engagement portrait session is just proof that some of the best things can happen when things don't go exactly as planned. After talking with Morgan about her and Nick's love story, I found out that they are big mountain people. In fact, Nick proposed to Morgan on Day #4 of a four-day hiking trip, so Morgan really wanted to incorporate that mountain feel in her engagement portrait session with her sweet fiance. There was rain in the forecast, a rockslide that threatened the main road to get up to this location, and to top it all off, the location was a little tricky to locate with modern technology! Once we finally reached our spot, fog had already rolled in and covered the area pretty thickly. But Morgan and Nick were so sweet and so excited to spend this time together, and I think the result was even prettier than we could have pictured! Enjoy this romantic session amidst the charming fog and even their sweet lil pup, Heidi who was such a good girl!
I love all my clients, but it is extra special being able to photograph clients who go way back. Haley and I attended the same elementary school, and we became good friends in 6th grade. She's one of those people that is genuinely always cheerful and that you rarely see without a smile on her face. Their engagement session was the first time I'd met Matt, but I knew instantly that they were meant for each other! It was so precious getting to see these two together and to see Haley so happy. They braved the very chilly temps at the Clemson rowing docks on Lake Hartwell, and it was just gorgeous! Can't wait for their wedding next Fall!
These New Yorkers love Clemson! When I asked why, Tanner said he grew up loving the greatest team! And I could agree more. My Clemson Tigers are the best! They made their way driving all the way down through heavy snow to spend a weekend in Clemson for a game and then continue on to NC for Thanksgiving with family. Little did Sam know a proposal was also part of the plan! These two have been together since high school, so over five years! And their joy was so contagious! Love sharing these special moments with my clients.
I've known Tori & Jared since college days at Clemson! We were all part of the same sweet Bible study and then Tori became my roommate for a year. Needless to say, this proposal session was very special, and I was so honored to capture it. Jared had actually physically carved out a path through the experimental forest and to nearby Todd Creek Falls. He thought it would be the perfect place to ask his girlfriend if she'd want to be his wife. It felt like an African safari hiding out in the brush while these two made their way down the mountain to the spot Jared had picked out in front of the falls. But everything was amazing, and you're going to catch all the lovey-dovey vibes scrolling through these!
A beautiful day for a beautiful couple! I met up with Jessica & James on a chillier of the Fall days we've been having, but it was such a beautiful day with a clear blue sky and vibrant colors on the trees. These two made hanging out with them so enjoyable. And it's clear to see how much love they have for each other. My favorite part of the shoot was throwing some Fall leaves at them for a couple shots. We had to try it a few times before getting the vision to come to life, but these two were so patient. And I'm in love with how it turned out! Scroll to see more!
These two made the trip down to their alma mater, Clemson University, all the way from Boston for the weekend. They had plans to make the most of their weekend, but little did Lindsay know, the weekend would all start with a surprise proposal. After getting into town early Friday morning, driving all the way to Clemson and stopping for a bite to eat downtown, Tim took Lindsay to a spot in President's Park under the rotunda where they had stepped through years before on the day of their graduation. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. I was "hiding" on a nearby bench amidst some bushes to capture the moment, and it was so emotional and joyful! Lindsay was totally taken by surprise, and I love her genuine reaction captured in these images. Enjoy the rest of Lindsay & Tim's portraits!
Jess and Mark met in college when mutual friends wanted to introduce them. Jess was hesitant to jump into a relationship at first, but after the two met, well, as they say, "the rest is history." It was so exciting getting a message from Mark asking me about an engagement session because we graduated high school together back in the day! I have good memories of Mark in our quirky German class, so it was good catching up and meeting his pretty fiance! These two go together so well, and I had the best time spending the morning taking their engagement portraits in Downtown Greenville right before a hurricane was about to hit our area. You would have never guessed it, though, by the pretty weather we were having! And we even got a little bit of Fall peeping through in the leaves. Enjoy more of these two as you scroll!
