4. Keep things simple.

I think one of the hardest things for me is getting rid of stuff. After just having moved back to college, I went through my entire room here and cleaned out a bunch of junk and old clothes that I didn’t need anymore. It was not a fun process, but afterward, I felt tons better. I once read an article about a guy who backpacked through Europe and decided he was going to limit everything he owned to only 20 necessities. In my imaginary world, I would absolutely love to do that! I think I would feel so free and uninhibited, but sadly life can’t really work quite like that. Instead, keeping things simple on a smaller scale or in certain areas of your life is key. Think about how you can organize your space to fit your needs. Remove distractions from it and from your life in general. Your mind can get cluttered with junktoo. The principle “less is more” goes a long way.
5. Invest in your work.
We live in a world of instant gratification. I’m sure you’re familiar with that concept because a lot of people like to talk about it. We have the world at our fingertips so to speak, and unfortunately that lends itself in leading us to believe we can also experience instant success. There are so many things that go into owning and operating your own business, and there are times when you may want to throw in the towel and call it quits because you simply weren’t prepared for or in favor of some of the hardships. Take those experiences and look at them for what they could be: growing experiences. When you push through the rough patches, your work inevitably gets better. You seek new ways to innovate and create. When very few are watching it gives you a chance to try new things and earn back their attention. Find what you love and don’t just do it. Do it with all your heart. Invest and commit, and the wealth you will gain won’t just be in money form. It will be evidenced through your character!
I’m so excited for what’s ahead, and I am humbled and incredibly grateful for your support along the way. Stay sweet, and check back for more later this week!!
